Sasha Allen has been the only transgender openly performing artist to have made it through this year's Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. It has been true for the past 21 seasons. The Newtown, Conn. duo have made it into the Top 8 of the contest! Sasha revealed that he is transgender, when they presented their audition packages at the Blind Auditions. According to Parade.com, this was not a quick decision. "That was a very difficult choice to make as you are showing a very vulnerable part of yourself in front of millions and millions people," said Sasha, who went through a transition while in high school. "But last week, during the week of fan-worship], witnessing people's reactions to and support for the show and how that has impacted those around you really demonstrated that it was worth it, and the right decision even though it was difficult to take." "'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' is an album that's been on a list of songs that we've always wanted to play on the show for a really many years," Sasha told Parade.com. The Voice wasn't even around in the moment we performed this song. We were so excited when we heard it. We knew the song. were familiar with; it was one we had already thought of arranging.
